Who we are
A global sisterhood for justice.
Solidarity for Afghan Women was founded on a simple principle: international solidarity must be tangible and action-oriented — not a slogan, but a lifeline.
We are a nonpartisan, humanitarian nonprofit led by Afghan diaspora activists. Afghan women hold our leadership roles, because the people closest to the problem are closest to the solution. We speak with Afghan women, not for them.
Why we exist
For twenty years, Afghan women won hard ground — in classrooms, clinics, courtrooms, and parliament. Today that ground is being taken back. We exist to make sure the world neither forgets nor accepts it, and to channel global goodwill into support Afghan women can actually use.
Why "Solidarity"?
Solidarity is mutual respect made practical. It is the recognition that the fight for women's rights is one fight, shared across borders. The name is a commitment: when we say we stand with Afghan women, we mean we put our resources, our platforms, and our votes behind them.
What we stand for
- Afghan-led. Decisions are shaped by Afghan women, not made over their heads.
- Nonpartisan & non-religious. Rights are universal; we serve women regardless of background.
- Transparent. We publish where money goes and what it achieves.
- Action-oriented. Every programme is judged by whether it reaches a woman directly.
Our people
Led by the women closest to the cause.
